Day 24: Boys will be boys!!

Today was a pretty uneventful day.  No exciting animal encounters or interesting attractions, just us.  We got up as usual at 7AM, had breakfast and hung out in our pj's for a bit.  Nicolas enjoys wrestling and tickle fights, so many mornings include both.  These always end up in wedgies, elbows to the head, and getting velcroed in the face (Nicolas' hair resembles velcro in both texture and its ability to attract everything).  I try to stay out of the wrestling as it never seems to work out well for me. :)  After wrestling and a snack, the boys went out to play soccer while I got ready.  They got ready as well and we headed on our every-other-day trip to the grocery store, had lunch, and headed for the pool.  It was quite warm today, so the pool felt pretty good!  Today Nicolas mastered both front and back flips in the shallow end (done in the water - just in case you thought I was crazy and let my kid do flips into the pool).  He did 50 back flips in a row!!  I don't know how he wasn't dizzy!  He is continuing to get more and more comfortable in the water and is improving at treading water in the deep end as well.  He and Kevin were swimming laps back and forth and his stroke has really improved!  He is going to be quite the fish!

A storm rolled in pretty quickly mid-afternoon, so we headed inside and turned on some music.  We danced and goofed around until the storm passed, then went back out to blow bubbles.  Then came the norm - dinner and homework.  We did throw a little bonus in with a skype with Auntie Beth.  We have been able to skype a few times over the last few days and it is so great to see and hear from family and friends.  We miss you!!!  After a quick read of Dinosaurs Love Underpants, it was bedtime.

One humorous quote I forgot to share the other day:  Nicolas said to Kevin "I wish God would turn back time on certain things." Kevin asked what he would be referring to and he responded "I want you to have your beard and mustache again and for you to have more hair up here (pointing to Kevin's forehead) like you did in the pictures." :)  Kevin kindly informed him that he could grow facial hair again, but that his hair was never coming back.  Poor Kevin....

Happy Friday!  Have a great weekend!!!
